In the spirit of Kujichagulia (self-determination), the Lincoln Park Sustainable Living Community Podcast launched in the middle of the “twin pandemics” (COVID and the social unrest post-George Floyd’s murder) as necessary vehicle for the non-profit to give voice to diverse community often overlooked and unable to access the wealth of investment of revitalization dollars.
While there are globally accessible podcasts touching on development and the economy, there is a lack of diverse voices from people of color leading the conversations on Creative Placemaking in the podcast medium. Lincoln Park Sustainable Living Community Podcast hosted by Executive Director Anthony Smith seeks to fill that void. The four-episode beta season includes “DWB: Developing While Black”, “Culture Bubbles Up From The Bottom”, “Navigating Through Crisis” and “The Year In Review”.
Season 2 will premiere soon.
