Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District’s (LPCCD) Lincoln Park Sustainable Living Community Garden, now located on West Kinney Street and Nevada Street in Lincoln Park, started in 2008 and launched in Summer 2010.
LPCCD began growing affordable, non-chemically treated, low-cost seasonal foods for the community and helped lead the fresh food movement in Newark, NJ.
Gardeners include Lincoln Park families, youth programs, and our senior population. Newarker Hashim Bennett is an Essex County Master Gardener and co-manager of the Lincoln Park Sustainable Living Community Garden.
Co-manager Theodore “Ted” Lawton is a retired Stacks Manager from NYU retired to New Jersey, and settled in Newark’s Lincoln Park.
